Where does the Red colour come from?

Simple answer is the Red Grape Skins.

Red & White look the same without the skin; When you press the grape Red or White, the juice is clear or cloudy white. By adding the ‘skins’ that contain the colour pigments will makes the clear juice turn red.

Intensity of Colour

It is during the fermentation process where the grape skins and juice are mixed and left to ferment, the pigment is drawn from the skins colouring the grape juice. The length of time you leave the skins in determines the intensity of the colour. Various grape varieties also have differing ‘red’ shades, which will effect the overall colour.

Rose

Why is our Rose so delicious and fruity??

Simple, our Divers Luck Rose is made from our Chambourcin lot. We simply remove the grape skins ‘very’ early on in the wine making process, so that there is left just a blush of pink.

You may find some Rose wines are made from White Grape varieties, where the wine make will add a small amount of Red Wine. You can be guaranteed that our Rose is 100% Chambourcin red.
