The 2007 Harvest has begun !

VERDHELO 2007

Our 2007 Harvest began at 5am Sunday morning, starting on the Traminer rows then moving quickly onto the Verhdelho. It was a family effort, with Damien leading the tribe of 9, including Steven and Jeff. All efforts exhausted by 11am, due to the extreme heat of the day setting in. Picking has steadily continued this week on the Verdhelo.

This season we are picking 6 weeks earlier than 2006's harvest, a combination of the threat of rain storms looming, and the high temperatures over summer has seen an early ripening of the fruit. As the sugar levels rise, the need to harvest begins.
